The Hamilton International School is seeking an exceptional IBDP/HSD Chemistry Specialist Teacher to join our dynamic Secondary team. About the Role
The ideal candidate will be an inspiring Chemistry teacher, eager to ignite curiosity and cultivate a passion for scientific inquiry among students in Grades 9–12. In addition, this educator will teach General Science for Grades 6–8 and play a vital role in enhancing the curriculum, assessments, and the overall educational experience at the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach General Science (Grades 6–8) and Chemistry (Grades 9–12) within the frameworks of the High School Diploma and/or IBDP.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that motivate, challenge, and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Create innovative lesson plans, effectively assess student learning, and use data to encourage academic growth.
- Contribute to the creation of departmental resources, including work schemes.
- Maintain effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Uphold high standards of classroom management and student behavior.
- Participate in the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
- Promote and embody the school’s values, safeguarding principles, and professional expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related Science/Chemistry field.
- A valid teaching certification that meets Qatar MoEHE requirements.
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the High School Diploma/IBDP/A Level (experience in IB DP Chemistry is a considerable advantage).
- A strong understanding of curriculum development and differentiated instruction techniques.
- A genuine passion for fostering students’ intellectual curiosity and love for learning.
- A proactive, collaborative team player dedicated to continuous improvement.
- Excellent skills in classroom management and communication.
