About This Role

Heidelberg International School (H.I.S.), an IB World School, is committed to serving the international community in the Rhine-Neckar area of Germany. Situated on our purpose-built campus in Heidelberg, we provide a supportive and respectful educational environment for approximately 230 students, from ages 4 through the IB Diploma Programme. Starting in August 2026, we are looking for a dedicated and talented: IB DP & IB MYP Visual Arts Teacher (Part-time position).

In this role, you will mentor and assist students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme within a collaborative and global educational framework. Your Responsibilities:

• Teach DP and MYP Visual Arts classes in accordance with the IB curriculum, fostering inquiry-based learning, creativity, and critical thinking
• Create, prepare, and present engaging and differentiated lessons that meet IB standards and objectives
• Support student development through both formative and summative assessment practices
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, interdisciplinary initiatives, and school-wide projects
• Actively participate in school activities, including meetings, parent communications, and extracurricular programs
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the arts department and the integration of IB methodologies

What You Bring:

• Proficiency in English (native level or equivalent)
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, M.Ed., Staatsexamen, or equivalent)
• Classroom teaching experience, ideally in international or bilingual settings
• Strong communication, organizational, and intercultural skills
• Experience teaching IB Visual Arts in the Diploma Programme and/or Middle Years Programme is highly desirable
• IB training or certification is a significant asset
• Basic knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory
