We are in search of a skilled and creative **Head of Primary Computing, Digital Literacy and Innovation** to become a part of our dynamic team starting in August 2025. This position will primarily focus on teaching computing in the Primary sector, with some responsibilities extending to KS3. The successful candidate will lead the strategic advancement of digital literacy throughout the school and support our ongoing excellence as an Apple Distinguished School.

**Key Responsibilities:**

This position entails a wide range of responsibilities, including:

● Teaching computing from KS1 to KS3.
● Leading the strategic development of digital literacy across the school.
● Informing decisions regarding the strategic advancement of Apple Distinguished Status within the school.
● Staying updated on innovative practice and pedagogy from Apple Distinguished Schools worldwide.
● Assessing, reviewing, and developing digital initiatives to increase engagement and enhance the functionality of teaching and learning related to Apple Distinguished Schools.
● Taking a leading role in digital projects, including research-based initiatives to evaluate new tools and approaches to digital education.
● Promoting the school’s reputation for Apple initiatives through the pursuit of external accreditations and awards.
● Establishing an annual program for IT training and sharing best practices within the school, including breakfast, twilight, and lunchtime drop-in sessions throughout the academic year.
● Designing and conducting induction sessions for new staff to familiarize them with the tools provided by the school.
● Leading the re-accreditation process for Apple Distinguished School status.
● Networking and collaborating with experts in the field to ensure a forward-thinking approach.
● Supporting the professional growth of staff to enhance learning through technology.
● Working alongside the IT team to ensure that systems and hardware are optimized to meet the school community's needs.
● Assisting staff and students (when appropriate) in embedding AI into the curriculum for educational purposes, promoting creativity, personalized learning, and critical thinking to enrich teaching and learning.
● Delivering workshops and training for the school community to enhance skills in the safe, responsible, and appropriate use of technology, including AI.
● Overseeing the review, implementation, and monitoring of new technological resources and applications.
● Ensuring that AI tools and technologies comply with the school's safeguarding policies and UAE data protection regulations.

**Requirements:**

**Essential**
● A Bachelor’s degree with full teaching qualifications (e.g., BEd, PGCE, QTS).
● A minimum of 4 years of relevant teaching experience.
● Proven success in leading teams to achieve strategic objectives under pressure.
● Expertise in current digital tools, pedagogy, and innovative educational initiatives.
● A strong commitment to raising standards and fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
● Proficiency in using digital technologies to enhance learning in accordance with Apple Distinguished School standards.

**Desirable**
● Prior experience in middle leadership.
● Experience in delivering professional development and supporting staff.
● Knowledge of implementing and adapting an enriched curriculum using digital tools.
● Experience in leading whole-school digital strategies and initiatives.
