Role Overview

In the role of Head of Arabic Studies Department, you will offer strategic leadership in the areas of curriculum design, teaching, and learning, ensuring that Arabic education meets exemplary standards. This position includes teaching responsibilities and emphasizes the delivery of a dynamic, research-based curriculum that incorporates contemporary pedagogical practices, technology, and a student-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor teachers and promote cultural appreciation.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with educational organizations to improve student outcomes and maintain national educational benchmarks.
  • Guide and enhance high pedagogical standards across all departments.
  • Assist Subject Leaders in making informed decisions regarding curriculum, assessment, and resource development.
  • Lead intervention and development strategies for individual educators as needed.
  • Provide leadership to Arabic teachers and curriculum support staff.
  • Ensure excellence in teaching and learning, as well as effective integration of educational technology.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the Arabic teaching programs.
  • Establish and implement targets for student improvement.
  • Analyze departmental data to pinpoint students who may be at risk of underachieving.
  • Identify the professional development needs of all team members.
  • Create suitable training opportunities and share best practices among staff.
  • Lead the Performance Management process for your team.
  • Promote the Arabic subject area during Open Days and Options Evenings.
