About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and imaginative English Teacher to join our team in August 2026. This one-year role presents an excellent chance to engage with our dynamic and collaborative English department within the Secondary section. More than 600 secondary students engage in a customized curriculum during Key Stage 3, progressing to CIE IGCSE and IB Diploma courses in English Language and Literature or English Literature. Each year, a select group of students participates in the GCSE ESL and English B Diploma programs.
The English faculty comprises 9 full-time members, guided by a Head of Faculty and a Deputy Head of Faculty. Our students are driven and ambitious, with many advancing to esteemed universities. We strive to provide a varied curriculum through our choice of texts, fostering discussions on relevant topics for our international student community.
We take pride in the support offered to our students, and all educators are encouraged to be actively involved in pastoral care, either as form tutors or support tutors.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in English or a related field
- A recognized teaching qualification
- Demonstrated experience of high-quality teaching across KS3, 4 & 5
- Experience with IB Language B or GCSE English as a Second Language
- Proven adaptability, innovation, and compassion in teaching and learning
- Evidence of collaborative planning and teamwork
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience teaching CIE IGCSE
- Experience teaching IB Diploma at SL or HL
