About This Role
We are looking for an experienced Student Support Mentor to ensure the safety of all students through maintaining the outstanding atmosphere for learning at The Link School by providing a range of interventions and support to ensure exceptional progress in all aspects of school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- To promote and provide support for all students at The Link School as required.
- To support and work with staff, parents and other agencies to support all students as required.
- To work with students, staff, parents and other agencies form other educational settings as part of The Link School’s outreach & support offer
- The Student Support Mentor will be responsible for the supporting the smooth day to day running of the school, including supervising students who are not attending their normal lessons for a variety of reasons and being a visible presence around the school to support a positive learning environment.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 / C or above in English and Mathematics or an equivalent Level 2 Qualification.
- Understanding/Knowledge of Children with Special Education Needs
- Ability to adapt activities to learners changing motivation and interest levels
- Understanding of safeguarding practice within a school environment
- Observe pupil learning behaviour and report observations to the teacher
