About This Role
Leadership and Management
Actively support and promote the vision, ethos, and strategic direction of the school.
Participate in the implementation and assessment of the School Development Plan within your designated area.
Provide assistance, support, and act as a deputy to the Head of School when necessary.
Ensure that inclusive practices are integrated throughout the curriculum and in pastoral care.
Translate school policies into actionable practices, identifying areas that may require review or enhancement, and report findings to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Lead components of the school’s self-evaluation process, which includes conducting lesson observations, monitoring standards, and driving initiatives for improvement.
Contribute to the creation of self-evaluation and policy documentation.
Effectively manage pupil transitions within and across different phases of education.
Encourage and cultivate cross-curricular teaching and learning strategies.
Serve as an active and effective member of the leadership team.
Exemplify exceptional teaching, behavior management, and professional standards.
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
Execute all class teacher responsibilities to a high level of excellence.
Lead essential school priorities and contribute to initiatives aimed at whole-school improvement.
Take charge of curriculum design and delivery, ensuring it is coherent, progressive, balanced, and challenging.
Facilitate regular meetings with relevant staff members.
Develop and encourage high-quality teaching methods that cater to a wide range of ages and abilities.
Monitoring and Assessment
Collaborate with the SLT to analyze data, monitor student progress, and guide planning and target setting.
Evaluate standards through work scrutiny, lesson observations, and quality assurance methodologies.
Review both long-term and medium-term planning to maintain consistency and uphold high standards.
Resource Management
Plan, organize, and assess programs within your area of responsibility.
Monitor and evaluate resource utilization to maximize its impact on learning.
Staff Development
Contribute to staff appraisal processes as a reviewer when appropriate.
Identify training needs and support professional development within your team.
Act as a mentor or coach, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
Stay updated on current developments and share best practices with colleagues.
