Caretaker/ Site Operative

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to play a vital role in the day to day operation of our school. This is far more than a maintenance position; it is an opportunity to make a real difference to the experience of our students, staff and visitors by ensuring our site is safe, secure, welcoming and operating efficiently. From maintaining our buildings and grounds to supporting school events and improvement projects, you will be a valued member of our team whose work has a direct impact on the success of the school. The successful candidate will be a reliable and enthusiastic individual, able to use their own initiative but also able to work well as part of a team. The position of Caretaker/ Site Operative requires the successful candidate to be flexible, well organised, professional and have good communication skills.

The post holder will ensure that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards and that the heating systems operate at optimum efficiency, and to provide an effective minor maintenance system to the school. In addition the post holder will be expected to observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified by the Site Manager, technical consultants, contractors and manufacturers, are adhered to in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations.
