About This Role

Are you a visionary educator ready to shape the next generation of global citizens?  Are you looking for a new Challenge?

Our school is seeking a dynamic Assistant Principal to join our Junior School Senior Leadership Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead strategic initiatives in enrichment and our extra curricular program. If you are a collaborative leader with a passion for holistic education and the drive to mentor both staff and students, we invite you to help us redefine the future of education.

Dwight School London is an IB World School for students aged 2-18 years and comprises the Dwight Schools network with seven outstanding schools located around the world. The London school community has a rich diversity of cultures, nationalities and experiences, with over 50 nationalities represented and over 40 languages spoken. We are a small, inclusive and supportive community with high aspirations for our students, and high expectations of our staff. Our collaborative and dynamic classes allow for in depth personalised learning and teacher support, and for students to meet with academic success. As we are located in the London suburbs, we have a stable student population with many of our students continuing at the school long term which provides the opportunity to connect with students and families over long periods of time.

We will expect the successful candidate to be an experienced teacher with a student centric mindset, looking to either take a first step into whole school leadership or continue their journey. The candidate will be knowledgeable about education across a variety of settings and be an innovative and forward thinking professional. An international outlook is essential, experience of the IB programmes and international education is desirable, although a willingness to undertake development in this area would be considered for the right candidate. Dwight School London is an organisation that aligns to a rigorous set of teaching standards and the successful candidate will have to demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to student-led, inquiry-based learning.

At Dwight, we offer:

  • teachers the opportunity to develop professionally

  • support of a resourceful and experienced Senior Leadership Team, friendly and helpful colleagues and a supportive parent body.

  • a workplace culture that prioritises work-life balance, personal well-being, collaboration, innovation and international opportunity

  • additional benefits and rewards, including funded development pathways, school fee subsidies, free staff lunches, rewards platform, EAP and flexible pension schemes

  • all the advantages that come with being a part of an inclusive, diverse, vibrant and welcoming international community, where over 40 languages are spoken

  • the chance to partner with an exciting global network of Dwight Schools, including our schools in New York City, Dubai, Seoul and Shanghai

We want to hear from you if:

  • you have experience in Key Stage 1, 4-7 years or Key stage 2, 7-11 years

  • you have a passion for inquiry based teaching and making lessons exciting and engaging for your students

  • you are committed to ensuring academic rigour and differentiation so all students make exceptional progress

  • committed to high standards in all that you do
