Aldar Education is excited to announce a vacancy for a remarkable Vice Principal at Yasmina American Academy in Abu Dhabi, with a start date of April 2025 or sooner if appointed.

Located in the vibrant Khalifa City A, Yasmina American Academy is dedicated to providing every child with an outstanding education that is both high-quality and affordable. Our American curriculum spans from Pre-KG to Grade 5, and we emphasize unlocking each child's potential within a nurturing and engaging environment.

Strategic Direction
- Assist the Principal by performing delegated responsibilities and stepping in as Principal during their absences.
- Partner with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to drive teaching, learning, and school development initiatives.
- Evaluate leadership, teaching, and learning standards as part of the school’s self-assessment.
- Create subject plans with budget considerations that align with the School Development Plan, engaging staff in their implementation.
- Develop and oversee short-, medium-, and long-term plans for resource allocation in essential areas.
- Collaborate with external agencies to inform school strategies.

Leading Teaching and Learning
- Work alongside the Principal to enhance teaching quality and improve student outcomes.
- Provide constructive feedback to colleagues to support their professional growth and positively influence student learning.
- Promote staff performance through professional development opportunities and reflective practices.
- Organize staff meetings and invite external speakers when necessary.
- Keep abreast of curriculum changes and disseminate knowledge to staff.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of teaching and support staff.

Leading and Managing Staff
- Cultivate a professional learning community that strives for high standards.
- Support staff development through continuing professional development, performance management, and goal setting.
- Foster a school culture based on equity, collaboration, and high expectations.
- Recognize team achievements and establish effective learning communities with other institutions.

Efficient Resource Deployment
- Assist the Principal in refining organizational structures and ensuring a safe and effective environment.
- Oversee subject budgets, ensuring expenditures align with priorities while delivering value for money.
- Allocate and track resources to improve learning outcomes.

Accountability
- Collaborate with the Principal to ensure accountability to parents, ADEK, and Aldar Academies.
- Advocate for a high-quality education, shared responsibility, and a cooperative school culture.
- Provide accurate performance reports to stakeholders and utilize feedback for continuous improvement.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching strategies.

Strengthening Community
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote equity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with other schools and Aldar Academies to exchange expertise.
- Work alongside parents and agencies to ensure the well-being of all students.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a B.Sc. with PGCE (essential); NPQSL or a Master’s degree (desirable).

Minimum Experience:
- Over 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years of surpassing performance standards.
- Minimum of 2 years in senior leadership; middle leadership experience is necessary.
- A proven track record of implementing school initiatives that enhance standards and achievements.

Skills & Knowledge:
- Exceptional teaching abilities across diverse ability ranges.
- Leadership experience in whole-school initiatives.
- Background in performance management and international school settings (IB experience preferred).
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
