THE ACADEMY
GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a prestigious, co-educational IB World School catering to students from PreK through Grade 12. Founded in 2008 and part of GEMS Education, we are authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes. GWA holds accreditation from both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE ROLE
Our Middle Years department has significantly enhanced student performance and fostered a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is attributed to our dedicated staff, their exceptional subject expertise, and the department's innovative approach to data and curriculum. The Inclusion department is esteemed by our students for the care and personal support it provides.
We are currently looking for a creative MYP Counsellor to join our accomplished team starting August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a proven history of delivering effective counselling and support to students. While experience in the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, we welcome outstanding Student Counsellors from any educational background to apply. It is essential to align with the IB philosophy and embody the values of the Learner Profile. A genuine enthusiasm for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse environment is also essential. Furthermore, candidates should have:
• A recognized professional qualification at the degree level, such as a BA, BS, or equivalent in Counselling
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a School Counsellor, preferably in an IB curriculum school, although this is not mandatory
• Availability starting August 2026
• The experience, character, and educational philosophy to advance the educational agenda at this leading GEMS IB World School, which serves students from over 100 countries
• The capability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning
• A desire to work in a world-class institution with ample opportunities for professional growth and advancement
