About This Role

Position Overview:

The secondary school Business Management Teacher is committed to delivering exceptional instruction in business, entrepreneurship, and management concepts, while encouraging critical thinking, analytical skills, and the practical application of economic and organizational principles. This role involves guiding students in developing their financial literacy, leadership abilities, and comprehension of global business practices within a secondary education framework. The courses offered may include International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Business Management, high school Business Management, Economics, or similar subjects based on student interest.

Optional travel may be required for field trips and experiential learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Expectations:

1. Curriculum Development

● Create and execute a thorough business management curriculum for grades 6–12 (or relevant secondary grades).

● Develop courses that may include:

○ Business Management

○ Entrepreneurship

○ Marketing Principles

○ Basic Finance and Accounting

○ Foundational Economics (as appropriate)

○ Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

○ IB Business Management (if applicable)

● Produce engaging instructional materials that align with educational standards.

● Incorporate real-world business scenarios, case studies, and project-based learning approaches.

● Weave in both global and local business perspectives.

● Utilize technology and digital resources pertinent to contemporary business settings.

2. Student Assessment

● Develop and execute formative and summative assessments that align with curriculum standards.

● Assess student comprehension through projects, presentations, case studies, and exams.

● Offer constructive and timely feedback to foster student development.

● Maintain precise records of student progress and accomplishments.

● Prepare students for both internal and external assessments and examinations (including IB assessments if applicable).

3. Applied Learning & Enrichment

● Coordinate experiential learning experiences such as simulations, business projects, and entrepreneurship activities.

● Motivate student involvement in business competitions and innovation challenges.

● Support student-led initiatives or entrepreneurship clubs where relevant.

● Advocate for financial literacy and applicable business skills.

● Stay informed about trends in business education, global economics, and entrepreneurship.

● Attend professional workshops, IB training (if applicable), and continuing education opportunities.

● Engage in ongoing professional learning in pedagogy and subject-specific areas.

● Drive innovation in teaching and learning methods.

4. Additional Expectations

● Oversee business-related clubs or extracurricular activities (e.g., entrepreneurship or investment clubs).

● Support academic competitions and student business ventures.

● Incorporate career awareness and practical skills into teaching.

● Foster a positive school environment.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

● A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

● Teaching certification is preferred.

● A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level is required.

● Relevant professional or industry experience in business, finance, or management is highly desirable.

● Experience in an international school setting is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

● In-depth understanding of business management principles, entrepreneurship, and global business practices.

● Capability to teach business concepts using real-world applications and case study methodologies.

● Familiarity with financial literacy, marketing, operations, and organizational management concepts.

● Capacity to effectively assess and monitor student development, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and levels.

● Strong understanding of formative and summative assessment practices and the use of data to inform instruction.

● Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to promote student success.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

● Proficiency in English; knowledge of French or Arabic is an advantage, though not mandatory.

● Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology tools.

● Previous experience in international teaching or work, particularly in a multicultural environment, is a plus.

Compensation

MAD 25,000 - MAD 32,400 per month (Monthly salary is NET (take-home), Additional benefits: Housing stipend: 6000 MAD/month, relocation & annual flights, international health coverage, retirement fund options, language classes, welcome stipend, laptop, SIM card)
