About the Role

Bahlool British International School, a prominent British international institution in Baghdad, is on the lookout for seasoned, British-trained educators for our IGCSE and A Level programs.

We are thrilled to announce the inception of a new Sixth Form (A Level) and are in search of dedicated teachers to join our pioneering team. Simultaneously, we are enhancing our successful IGCSE program, which has consistently demonstrated outstanding student outcomes.

This role presents a distinctive chance to be part of a school that combines the dynamic challenge of establishing a new Sixth Form with the support, stability, and professional atmosphere of our established IGCSE program.

Curriculum

The school implements the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with Pearson / Edexcel specifications is highly preferred.

Subjects Required

IGCSE & A-Level:

• Chemistry

• Business

• Physics

• Biology

• Chemistry

• ICT / Computer Science

• English

• History

• Geography

Candidates are welcome to apply for one or multiple subjects based on their qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional teaching for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)

• Design and prepare lessons that align with Pearson specifications and assessment goals

• Aid in the development and launch of the new Sixth Form Department

• Contribute to curriculum planning, schemes of work, and internal assessments

• Prepare students comprehensively for external examinations

• Monitor student progress and offer academic support as necessary

• Uphold high standards of classroom management and professionalism

• Collaborate effectively with senior leaders and Sixth Form staff

• Engage in staff meetings, training, and initiatives related to the Sixth Form

Person Specification

• British-trained teacher holding a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

• Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area

• Demonstrated experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level

• Solid knowledge of Pearson / Edexcel exam boards

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Passion for contributing to the establishment of a new Sixth Form

• Capability to work both independently and as a member of a developing team

• Experience in an international school or Sixth Form is beneficial but not mandatory

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
