Job Overview
Capital School Bahrain is looking to appoint a driven and experienced Head of Mathematics to oversee and enhance our Mathematics offerings for Key Stages 3 and 4, playing a pivotal role in the preparation for the introduction of A-Level Mathematics in September 2026.

The Role
The Head of Mathematics will:
• Provide both strategic and operational leadership for the Mathematics department
• Oversee curriculum planning, sequencing, and assessment from KS3 to KS5
• Foster improvements in teaching and learning through coaching, monitoring, and support
• Utilize assessment data effectively to enhance student attainment and progress
• Prepare the department for the successful delivery of IGCSE and A-Level Mathematics
• Manage Mathematics staff and facilitate their professional development
• Contribute to the school’s overall improvement goals and leadership initiatives
Person Specification
Essential
• Qualified teacher status
• In-depth subject knowledge in Mathematics
• Prior experience as a Head of Mathematics or Deputy Head of Mathematics
• Experience teaching the English National Curriculum and IGCSE Mathematics
• Proven track record of raising standards through effective leadership and teaching
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desirable
• Experience or involvement in A-Level Mathematics delivery or planning
• Background in an international or British overseas school
• A commitment to innovation, inclusive practice, and ongoing improvement
