Aldar Education is in search of an exceptional Vice Principal for Yasmina American Academy located in Abu Dhabi, with a start date of April 2025 or potentially sooner based on availability.

Strategic Direction

  • Assist the Principal by taking on delegated responsibilities and stepping in during their absence.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to steer teaching, learning, and school development initiatives.
  • Evaluate leadership, teaching, and learning standards as part of the school’s self-assessment process.
  • Formulate subject plans with associated budgets aligned with the School Development Plan, engaging staff in their implementation.
  • Establish and oversee short-, medium-, and long-term resource development plans in critical areas.
  • Partner with external organizations to inform school strategies.

Leading Teaching and Learning

  • Work alongside the Principal to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Provide constructive feedback to colleagues, assisting their development and enhancing student learning.
  • Promote staff performance through ongoing professional development and reflective practices.
  • Organize staff meetings and invite external speakers as necessary.
  • Stay informed about curriculum advancements and share insights with the team.
  • Recruit and select teaching and support staff.

Leading and Managing Staff

  • Cultivate a professional learning community to achieve exemplary standards.
  • Support staff growth through continuing professional development (CPD), performance management, and goal setting.
  • Foster a positive school culture rooted in fairness, cooperation, and high expectations.
  • Acknowledge team successes and foster effective learning communities with other schools.

Efficient Resource Deployment

  • Assist the Principal in enhancing organizational structures and ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Manage subject budgets, aligning expenditures with priorities to ensure value for money.
  • Allocate and oversee resources to improve learning outcomes.

Accountability

  • Collaborate with the Principal to ensure accountability to parents, ADEK, and Aldar Academies.
  • Advocate for high-quality education, shared responsibility, and a collaborative school culture.
  • Present precise performance reports to stakeholders and reflect on feedback for improvement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring the effectiveness of schemes of work and teaching strategies.

Strengthening Community

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote equity and entitlement.
  • Collaborate with other schools and Aldar Academies to exchange expertise.
  • Partner with parents and agencies to ensure the well-being of all children.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or B.Sc. with PGCE (essential); NPQSL or Master’s degree (desirable).

Minimum Experience:

  • Over 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years of exceeding performance standards.
  • Minimum of 2 years in senior leadership; experience in middle leadership is required.
