THE ROLE
Our Physical Education department has significantly enhanced student outcomes and successfully instilled a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This success is attributed to our dedicated staff, their exceptional subject expertise, and the department’s innovative approach to data and curriculum design. The PE department is well-respected among our students for the personalized support and care it provides.
We are currently looking for a dynamic and creative PE Teacher to instruct at both Primary and Secondary levels, joining our accomplished team.
SKILLS
The perfect candidate will have a proven history of effective teaching and facilitating student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, we welcome outstanding educators from any curriculum background to apply. It is essential that candidates align with the IB philosophy and demonstrate a commitment to the values of the Learner Profile. A genuine enthusiasm for working within a non-selective and culturally diverse environment is also crucial. Additionally, the candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree combined with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Physical Education.
- Advanced qualifications are preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching Primary and Secondary PE, ideally within an IB curriculum institution, although this is not mandatory.
- A solid understanding of the IB PYP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred.
- A strong desire to continually enhance their practice and provide outstanding teaching and learning experiences for students.
- The experience, character, and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy.
- Availability starting August 2025.
