About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Vice Principal of Secondary to become part of our dedicated team at GEMS Education in Dubai, commencing in August 2026. The Vice Principal (Secondary) is instrumental in influencing the strategic direction, culture, and overall performance of the Secondary School. Collaborating closely with the Principal and the broader leadership team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional leadership in teaching and learning, enhance the student experience, and foster staff development, all while ensuring high standards and strong outcomes that align with the school’s vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and management of the Secondary School, ensuring that all efforts align with the school’s vision, values, and overarching priorities.
- Lead the teaching and learning initiatives throughout the Secondary phase, promoting high standards in classroom practices, assessments, and student outcomes.
- Assist the Principal in executing and continuously improving the IB continuum, ensuring adherence to IB standards and requirements.
- Supervise and nurture Heads of Department and Middle Leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and high performance.
- Monitor student progress, achievement, and wellbeing by utilizing data to guide interventions and strategic decisions.
- Play a pivotal role in staff recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning within the Secondary School.
- Lead initiatives related to behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding, ensuring the consistent enforcement of policies and the maintenance of a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Enhance parent and community engagement by serving as a senior point of contact, representing the school with professionalism and credibility.
- Work in close collaboration with the Primary Leadership Team to ensure effective transitions, continuity, and coherence across different school phases.
- Contribute to processes of school self-evaluation, accreditation, and inspections, including IB evaluations and adherence to local regulatory requirements.
- Assist in operational and timetable planning to guarantee the efficient functioning of the Secondary School.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader who exemplifies the school’s values and fosters a positive, aspirational culture for both staff and students.
