About This Role
SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for a dedicated UNIVERSITY COUNSELLOR to join our team starting in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in university counselling, preferably within an international or IB school environment.

Job Overview:
The University Counsellor is essential in guiding secondary students in their planning, preparation, and successful transition to post-secondary education. This role encompasses delivering informed, ethical, and student-centered advice throughout the university exploration and application process. The University Counsellor works closely with school leadership, educators, students, and families to ensure that counselling practices align with IB philosophy and international best practices, while also nurturing each student's academic profile, interests, and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored university and career counselling for MYP and DP students.
- Guide students through the entire university application journey, including course selection, timelines, documentation, and decision-making.
- Assist with applications to universities worldwide (UK, US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, etc.).
- Manage the preparation and submission of transcripts, references, predicted grades, school reports, and other required documents.
- Offer guidance on standardized testing, entrance requirements, and scholarship opportunities.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding university pathways, application updates, and post-secondary planning.
- Organize university fairs, information sessions, workshops, and both on-campus and virtual visits.
- Build and maintain relationships with university representatives, educational consultants, and external partners.
- Keep accurate records of student applications, outcomes, and counselling interactions.
- Collaborate with DP/MYP Coordinators, teachers, and school leadership to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Stay informed about global university admissions trends and changing requirements.
- Promote and exemplify the IB learner profile and approaches to learning (ATL).
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in Education, Counselling, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in university counselling or a related guidance role.
- Experience within an international or IB school setting is highly desirable.
- Thorough understanding of international university systems and application processes.
- Proficiency in navigating students through various application platforms and pathways.
- Outstanding communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- A student-focused, ethical, and confidential approach to counselling.
