Speech and Language Therapist NQT, Band 5 or Band 6 Experience Dependent
About This Role
Exciting New Role in a Growing & Innovative Therapy Service
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic young people? Do you want to be part of a dynamic, neurodiversity-affirming, and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team?
Phoenix School is expanding its therapy service and seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Speech & Language Therapists (NQT/ Band 5/ Band 6) to join our Outstanding provision for autistic students aged 3–19. You’ll be working closely with the Phoenix SaLT Team and Phoenix Outreach Team to support our Phoenix Specialist Classrooms across Tower Hamlets.
As part of our expansion, Phoenix School is proud to deliver an “expert-at-hand” model of support. This means our therapists are the “expert at hand” within school environments — providing responsive, embedded, and high-impact support for staff, students, and families.
At Phoenix, we celebrate neurodiversity and are committed to approaches that empower young people to communicate in ways that are authentic and meaningful to them.
The Role
- As a Speech & Language Therapist at Phoenix, you will:
- Work creatively and collaboratively, with access to extensive resources and expert support
- Manage your own caseload with support and coaching from senior therapists
- Plan, deliver, and train others in engaging, innovative therapeutic interventions
- Embed communication and interaction opportunities within classrooms and specialist provisions
- Support students’ emotional regulation, resilience, and wellbeing
- Train and upskill education professionals in neuro-affirming communication and best practice
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to create meaningful outcomes
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and the wider school community
