Are you passionate about helping children thrive and achieve their very best?

Do you lead with compassion, inspire confidence, and show courtesy in every interaction?

Are you driven by curiosity, motivated by commitment, and ready to show the courage to make a real difference in young lives?

If so, Thomas Deacon Academy Juniors would love to hear from you!

Your role:

As a Teaching Assistant at our Junior College, you'll work alongside teachers to help children in Key Stage 2 access learning, build confidence and develop independence. You'll support individuals and small groups, encourage positive behaviour, promote inclusion, and help every child overcome barriers to success.

We're looking for someone with GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. You'll be able to build positive relationships, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate the compassion, confidence, courtesy, commitment, curiosity and courage that underpin life at Thomas Deacon Academy Juniors. Experience working with primary-aged children or a Teaching Assistant qualification would be an advantage, but above all, we're seeking someone who is dedicated to making a difference every day.

About us:

At Thomas Deacon Academy, you’ll become part of a vibrant, supportive community where staff are valued and developed. Everything we do is guided by our core values of compassion, confidence, curiosity, courage, commitment and courtesy, not just words, but principles that shape our daily work and culture.

We are proud to foster a safe, inclusive environment where students and staff alike are encouraged to be their best selves, and where compassion, confidence and courtesy underpin every interaction.

If you're ready to bring your compassion, confidence, courtesy, commitment, curiosity and courage to a role where every day matters, we'd love you to join the team at Thomas Deacon Academy Juniors.

Why work for us?:

This is an opportunity to be part of a welcoming academy community where you can make a lasting difference to children every single day. You'll work term time plus one week, benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities, and enjoy the reward of seeing the progress, confidence and achievements of the young people you support.
