The perfect candidate will possess experience in delivering curriculum PE from Early Years through to Year 13. Familiarity with teaching IGCSE and A Level academic PE courses is also desirable. You will have the opportunity to enhance our comprehensive co-curricular sports program, which includes both recreational and competitive activities. As a member of FOBISIA, our school participates in annual friendly games tournaments for U11, U13, and U15 teams. Additionally, we are a prominent member of the NISSA league, which features competitive basketball and football for senior boys and girls among international curriculum schools in Kathmandu. Volleyball enjoys significant popularity at TBS, and the faculty organizes friendly matches with other international schools. You will join a committed team of four PE teachers, along with two teaching assistants, promoting a culture of inclusivity, sporting excellence, and well-being within the school community.
In addition to your role within the academic faculty, all teachers are part of a Key Stage pastoral team and may serve as mentors (tutors) for small groups of up to 12 students. Mentors will engage with their groups at the beginning of each day for a structured 20-minute session, along with conducting a weekly PSHE lesson.
All educators are expected to contribute to our broad range of co-curricular activities, committing at least one hour per week throughout the year. Educational trips and residential visits are integral to our curriculum, and all teaching staff participate in annual school expeditions, which involve each year group embarking on a week-long adventure or service project, allowing both students and teachers to explore Nepal beyond the Kathmandu valley. As a whole school teacher, you may work with either primary or secondary year groups based on staffing needs.
