KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide engaging and effective instruction in Portuguese language and literature, in alignment with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and other international curricula.
- Design and execute dynamic lessons that cater to a range of learning needs, employing modern teaching strategies and technology.
- Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, ensuring high academic standards are maintained.
- Offer pastoral care, promoting student well-being and working collaboratively with the school’s well-being team.
- Encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities, cultural events, and language-centered projects.
- Contribute to curriculum development and initiatives aimed at school improvement.
- Uphold a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behavior and discipline.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support professional development goals.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and stakeholders about student progress.
- Stay updated on educational advancements and engage in continuous professional learning.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A relevant degree in Portuguese Language, Literature, or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Portuguese at the secondary level, ideally with knowledge of the IB curriculum (IBDP) or other international programs.
- The ability to inspire and engage students, cultivating a passion for language and culture.
- Strong skills in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Experience incorporating technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices.
