ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Teacher of Physics to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of our Science Department, where you will provide outstanding lessons and inspire students throughout the Senior School. Candidates must be capable of teaching Science in Years 7 and 8, encompassing Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as a combined subject. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who can teach either Biology or Chemistry at the iGCSE level, as well as Physics at the IBDP level.

In this position, you will design engaging Physics lessons that stimulate scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and practical laboratory skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver well-structured and engaging Physics lessons that comply with Key Stage 3, iGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme standards, as well as the school's overall academic framework.
  • Teach combined Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to Years 7 and 8 students.
  • Promote scientific inquiry, analytical reasoning, and hands-on laboratory skills through high-quality teaching.
  • Effectively prepare students for both internal and external evaluations, including the expectations of iGCSE and IBDP.
  • Diligently assess, track, and report on student progress, maintaining high academic standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department to encourage effective teaching practices and continuous professional development.
  • Utilize inclusive teaching strategies that address the diverse needs of all students, including those with varying learning requirements.
  • Enhance the science extracurricular program through clubs, competitions, field trips, and enrichment activities.
  • Participate in the pastoral care of students, promoting wellbeing, resilience, and a passion for scientific exploration.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Experience teaching Physics at the iGCSE and IBDP levels, along with combined Science in Years 7 and 8.
  • Ability to teach either Biology or Chemistry at iGCSE in conjunction with Physics.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for inspiring students to engage with and value science.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • A reflective and innovative mindset with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in an international school environment or familiarity with international curricula is highly desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
