Brighton College Vietnam is looking to recruit a Teacher of English to join our team starting in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage and motivate students in English from Year 7 to Year 13.

• Foster an appreciation for important English cultural aspects and traditions among students.

• Ensure all lessons are thoroughly planned, assessed, and allow for effective differentiation.

• Evaluate, grade, document, and communicate students' progress and achievements.

• Comply with departmental and school-wide standards and policies regarding teaching, grading, and assessment.

• Prepare and encourage students for success in national competitions.

• Display students’ work around the department and school, and facilitate student performances.

• Occasionally lead assemblies for the entire school.

• Maintain detailed records for the department, tracking individual student progress in the subject.

• Promote the integration of ICT in English teaching.

• Fulfill all responsibilities and adhere to procedures outlined in the staff handbook.

• Be ready to represent the school by interacting with prospective parents visiting the classroom and acting as an ambassador for the institution.

• Collaborate closely with the Head, the SENCO, and other staff regarding any students of concern.

• Manage student behavior and discipline in accordance with the school’s behavior policy.

• Keep relevant online platforms updated.

• Contribute to school newsletters at least once per term.

• Attend staff and curriculum meetings, including occasional whole-school gatherings.

• Participate in the appraisal process.

• Serve as a positive role model in terms of language, appearance, behavior, and care for equipment.

• Act as a form/house tutor.

Additional Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the wider school community.

• Assist with the school’s marketing and admissions efforts, including Open Mornings, events for prospective parents, and assessment days.

• Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular opportunities.

• Attend Parents’ evenings when required and prepare reports.

• Actively lead after-school clubs and activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should have experience in preparing students for GCSE/IGCSE.

• Teaching experience with IBDP is advantageous.

• A PGCE/PGDE or equivalent qualification is required.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
