About This Role

TEACHER OF BIOLOGY

The English College in Dubai is on the lookout for a passionate, reflective, and inspiring Teacher of Biology to join our Science Faculty and Secondary School starting in August 2026. The ideal candidate should embody a growth mindset and set high expectations for both staff and students. We seek someone who is eager to learn, committed to professional development, and believes in the potential for continuous improvement. A strong enthusiasm for nurturing the holistic growth of students—academically, emotionally, physically, and socially—is essential.

With a legacy of 33 years, The English College is one of the oldest educational institutions in Dubai. As a well-established, independent co-educational school offering a British curriculum from EYFS to Year 13, we are conveniently located just off Sheikh Zayed Road. Our students embark on a journey from Curious Cubs to accomplished EC Lions, experiencing growth and exploration guided by dedicated staff who foster talents, build confidence, and inspire ambition. Our mission is clear: Learn. Thrive. Make a Difference. Education here goes beyond conventional classrooms; it emphasizes curiosity, creativity, resilience, and character. We prioritize wellbeing, believing that success follows when both students and teachers are supported and happy.

We offer excellent resources and facilities. Our cutting-edge STEAM center, which opened in August 2025, includes DT labs, a graphics studio, a media suite, and a robotics studio. In addition, our Secondary Building features two drama studios, a fitness suite, specialized art and music rooms, and well-equipped science laboratories. Our Primary building also includes dedicated spaces for computing, art, science, and STEAM education. We have a strong reputation for academic excellence, placing student success at the heart of our objectives. Our students are engaged and enthusiastic learners, while our staff comprises passionate educators dedicated to providing continuous professional development. Our parents are actively involved in their children’s learning journey, progress, and achievements.

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, highly qualified, and committed, with a solid track record in education. Positions at EC offer an exciting and fulfilling challenge, allowing you to be part of a dynamic, progressive institution recognized as Outstanding by BSO (2022) and Very Good by DSIB (2023). The successful candidate will showcase a creative teaching style, effectively inspiring and motivating students with diverse talents and abilities. Applicants must demonstrate the skills and vision necessary to maintain high expectations for all learners, utilizing data to address individual needs while providing suitable challenges and support. A genuine passion for teaching Biology up to A Level is essential, along with a readiness to teach other science subjects at KS3 and/or KS4.

We value character and values in our recruitment process. It is vital for all successful candidates to resonate with our core purpose, vision, and values. We are looking for a committed team player who brings energy, enthusiasm, and ambition to help advance our forward-thinking school. You should exhibit a capacity to support students in reaching their full potential within a collaborative environment, show a proactive commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of our learners, and be prepared to engage in our vibrant extracurricular programs. The successful candidate will also play a key role in ensuring the safety and welfare of our students.

The English College fosters a family atmosphere, and with our wonderful students and a dedicated team of exceptional teachers and support staff, it is a fantastic environment for both learning and teaching. We are part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a growing network of dedicated professionals across financially responsible schools worldwide, committed to being the preferred educational Apply via the WhatSchool platform.
