Summer Camp Media - Residential Monitor
About This Role
ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College, The British School of Madrid (Soto de Viñuelas) is seeking a creative and committed Media – Residential Monitor to support student wellbeing while generating and disseminating daily media content during the Summer Camp program, scheduled from 25 June to 25 July.
The selected candidate will report to the Residential Director and will be tasked with supervising students on a 24/7 rotational basis, actively participating in camp activities, and producing high-quality photographs, videos, and digital content to provide daily updates to parents and create promotional materials for marketing and end-of-session highlights. This role requires a strong dedication to safeguarding, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise students on a continuous 24/7 residential schedule, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and adherence to camp protocols.
- Provide pastoral support while ensuring that students are never left unsupervised, even during off-site activities.
- Capture high-quality images and videos of daily events, activities, and student interactions.
- Create and upload daily media updates for parents on the camp platform.
- Edit, organize, and archive media files for future use and marketing purposes.
- Produce end-of-session highlight videos that reflect camp experiences.
- Work closely with the marketing team to provide suitable content for social media and communications.
- Participate in evening activities and assist with broader camp operations as necessary.
- Accompany students on excursions, following all safety and safeguarding guidelines.
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
- Adhere to school policies, staff handbook protocols, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding practices.
- Support non-residential monitors during daytime activities when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in residential and activity areas.
- Assume additional reasonable responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of the Summer Camp.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Proficiency in English at a C1 level.
- At least 1 year of experience in summer camps or youth programs (preferred).
- Experience in residential living or working environments.
- Ability to supervise children on a 24/7 rotational schedule.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in content creation, photography, videography, editing, and social media management.
- Capability to generate daily media content for parental and marketing purposes.
- Background in organizing and maintaining digital media archives.
- Skill in creating end-of-session videos.
- Willingness to participate in evening activities and excursions.
- Relevant experience in media or communications, ideally with some formal training.
