Chief John Keenatch High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join its team for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in Big River First Nation, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement lesson plans across various subjects to facilitate student learning.
• Evaluate and assess student comprehension and performance on the curriculum.
• Communicate with students and parents about educational progress and concerns.
• Cultivate a nurturing, inclusive, and safe educational environment that promotes student development.
• Create lesson plans and instructional methods that adhere to school standards.
• Conduct assessments to track student progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Establish an engaging learning atmosphere tailored to the individual needs of each student.
• Plan and coordinate activities such as quizzes, competitions, and group discussions to enhance lesson delivery and material.
• Effectively manage student behavior and classroom activities.
Qualifications:
• Strong scheduling abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• A Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
• Proficient in classroom management techniques.
• Capability to teach students with varying abilities.
• Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum.
• Cross-cultural experience is an asset.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Ability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must be able to confirm previous teaching experience, if applicable.
