Secondary Languages Teacher (Spanish with French)

The Hamilton International School (THIS), part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), is on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Languages Teacher (Spanish with French) to become a valuable member of our vibrant Secondary team. About the Role

We are in search of a committed languages educator who can primarily teach Spanish, with the ability to teach French to lower secondary students (Grades 6–8). Candidates who have experience teaching IBDP Spanish and/or High School Diploma Spanish are particularly encouraged to apply.

The ideal applicant will inspire a passion for languages, develop robust linguistic abilities, and provide high-quality, culturally enriching learning experiences for students of varying skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct Spanish for Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP Spanish.
  • Teach French to students in lower secondary (Grades 6–8).
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that enhance communication skills, intercultural awareness, and language proficiency.
  • Establish high expectations that motivate and challenge students.
  • Implement effective assessment methods to track progress and inform instruction.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learners, including EAL and high-achieving students.
  • Participate in curriculum development, create schemes of work, and contribute to departmental resources.
  • Promote a positive and respectful learning atmosphere based on mutual respect.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Engage in the broader school community through extracurricular activities and cultural events.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct, safeguarding, and health and safety.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Languages (with a teaching qualification).
  • Valid teaching certification that complies with Qatar MOEHE requirements.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, or A Level Spanish.
  • Capability to teach French in lower secondary (Grades 6–8).
  • Strong knowledge of the subject matter and modern language teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience in an international or multicultural educational environment is preferred.
