Your Role as a Secondary Art Teacher
At Newton, teaching Art goes beyond simple technique; it involves helping students nurture their creativity, critical thinking skills, and appreciation for culture and self-expression.
In this role, you will:
Design captivating and inspiring lessons that align with the British curriculum
Foster creativity and innovation through both practical and theoretical methods
Guide students in refining their technical abilities and developing their personal artistic styles
Promote critical thinking and reflection through the exploration of art history and contemporary practices
Engage in curriculum development and enrichment initiatives
Support student wellbeing through strong pastoral care and the cultivation of positive relationships
Desired Qualifications
We are looking for educators who have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching Art within the British curriculum
A Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
A passion for student-centered and inclusive education
Exceptional communication skills and strong classroom management capabilities
A commitment to continuous professional development and personal growth
