About This Role
SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for a skilled PYP Visual Arts Teacher to commence in AUGUST 2026. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching within the PYP framework. As we strive to enrich our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) program, candidates should be prepared to actively engage in these efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Understand, respect, and adhere to the policies, practices, and procedures of SNA.
- Foster professional and effective communication with students, parents, fellow educators, and other stakeholders.
- Advocate for and apply IB teaching and learning methodologies (ATL’s) in everyday instruction.
- Embody the characteristics of the IB learner profile.
- Maintain a positive mindset, embrace a growth attitude, and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Assist students during the PYP exhibition, as applicable.
- Collaborate with grade-level and interdisciplinary teams to enhance both the written and taught curriculum.
- Commit to continuous professional growth.
- Regularly communicate and cooperate with department colleagues regarding planning, assessments, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management, including behavioral expectations and routines.
- Work alongside other school staff to promote social and emotional awareness.
- Actively engage in behavioral management and provide pastoral care in homeroom and other classes.
- Attend staff meetings and offer constructive contributions.
- Supervise students during breaks when necessary.
- Organize class activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and communications with parents using ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
- Interact with the parent community to keep them updated on student learning and encourage their involvement in Parents as Learner (PAL) meetings, Student Lead Conferences (SLCs), PYP exhibitions, and PTA activities.
- Act as a resource and support for new staff concerning curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
- Participate in school events as required and perform additional tasks assigned by the PYP Coordinator.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and a recognized teaching certification; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an IB or international school setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the IB PYP frameworks and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons catering to diverse student needs.
- Strong classroom management and student supervision skills.
- Proficient in integrating technology and digital tools into lesson delivery.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Creative, collaborative, and proactive involvement in school life and CCAs.
- Dedication to child safeguarding with the ability to provide valid background checks.
- Willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
