About This Role
Employ a range of inquiry techniques (including open, structured, and guided inquiries) to ignite students' curiosity and equip them with the abilities needed to develop their own understanding and flourish as independent lifelong learners.
· Teach students essential conceptual knowledge that transcends individual subject areas, aiding their comprehension of intricate ideas and overarching themes. Intentionally create questions, inquiries, and provocations to enhance conceptual understanding while connecting content, skills, and concepts.
· Develop authentic learning experiences that enable students to absorb new knowledge by linking it to their personal local experiences as well as to wider global contexts, thereby fostering their international awareness.
· Collaboratively and intentionally plan to establish interactive and cooperative learning experiences that encourage meaningful dialogue and feedback, using data to adaptively meet the needs of students.
· Work alongside colleagues to accommodate diverse student backgrounds by boosting self-esteem, recognizing prior knowledge, scaffolding and enriching the educational experiences of all learners, and providing challenging, relevant work.
· Strategically plan, organize, and execute ongoing assessments in collaboration with students and colleagues to track, document, evaluate, and report on learning advancements. Utilize data from “Assessment as and for Learning” to gain insights for refining teaching and learning strategies.
· Focus on teaching approaches to learning skills by identifying the specific skills and attitudes being instructed. Intentionally guide students in the strategies and techniques that enhance their information processing and encourage the transfer of these skills, along with self-regulation.
· Effectively integrate technology to enhance students' learning experiences. Reflect on the rationale and methods for using technology while ensuring digital integrity.
· Support and enrich students’ language acquisition by activating prior knowledge and building foundational understanding, scaffolding language development, enhancing vocabulary, and validating their identities.
· Plan initiatives that empower students to adopt sustainability principles and navigate complex systems, enabling them to take proactive steps or advocate for actions that restore and preserve ecosystem health while promoting equity and envisioning a sustainable future.
· Actively participate in professional inquiry (such as PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, data teams, etc.) with the aim of continuously reflecting on practices and improving learning outcomes for all students.
· Contemplate beliefs regarding professional responsibilities to act with integrity and transparency, foster and nurture learning communities, and respect and promote both local and global cultures.
