About This Role
The Position
• Take charge of students' academic, personal, and social development within the classroom by:
- implementing lessons and activities as directed by the Prep School Head while adhering to King’s curriculum standards
- managing student behavior and cultivating a respectful classroom atmosphere
- monitoring student progress and assessing their work
- preparing reports and arranging meetings with parents as necessary
- accurately keeping the class attendance record
- supervising recess and lunch periods as instructed
• Continuously prioritize student welfare by:
- actively participating in one of the School’s Houses and getting involved in related activities
- following the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
- communicating with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and parents as required
- responsibly completing weekly night duties according to the School’s expectations and policies
• Enhance the School’s co-curricular programs by participating in activities, clubs, etc., which may include:
- athletics
- arts
- academic enrichment initiatives
- outdoor pursuits
• Undertake additional relevant tasks assigned by the School’s Leadership Team, such as:
- being prepared (within reasonable limits) to cover for absent colleagues
- collaborating on marketing and admissions initiatives
- attending staff meetings and in-service training
- participating in school-wide events like Foundation Day
- serving on various school committees
