Pre-K Teacher Opportunity – Chamakese Education Centre, PELICAN LAKE FIRST NATION
Chamakese Education Centre, catering to students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6, is situated within the Pelican Lake First Nation in north-central Saskatchewan (Leoville, SK). The Pelican Lake First Nation is on the lookout for a qualified Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
Primary Duties:
- Offer compassionate support and direction to young learners
- Create captivating lessons and interactive learning activities/materials
- Conduct both formal and informal assessments of students
- Incorporate appropriate technology and media into lesson development
- Lead educational activities within the classroom and in outdoor settings
- Engage in extracurricular school programs
- Maintain high expectations for behavior, respect, and safety in the classroom
- Encourage open and continuous communication with families
- Develop course timelines and instructional materials, including syllabi, assignments, and handouts
- Formulate lesson plans with specific objectives that align with Saskatchewan curriculum standards
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be in the process of acquiring a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in education
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of contemporary literacy practices and teaching methodologies
- Show a strong work ethic and a high level of commitment
- Exhibit an appreciation for and understanding of Indigenous culture
- Support the school’s mission and values through student-centered decision-making
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Uphold professionalism in all interactions and school activities
- Prioritize the ongoing development of school programs and curriculum
