RAK Academy Al Hamra:

Located in the southern region of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is a growing primary and lower secondary institution that adopts an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, alongside UAE MOE subjects. Our new secondary school will welcome students in Grades 6 to 8 for the first time in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), aligning ourselves with premier international British schools, and we are prepared to offer the ECT induction for teachers.

The Role (Founding Position)

RAK Academy – Al Hamra is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and inspiring Positive Engagement Leader (Grade 6) to join our founding team. This role is essential in fostering a culture of high aspirations, positive behavior, and strong student engagement throughout the secondary phase. As one of the first staff members, you will significantly contribute to establishing the systems, policies, and practices that will define the school’s ethos and culture moving forward.

Essential:

  • A Bachelor's degree; candidates with specializations in Science, MFL, or PE will be prioritized.
  • A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A comprehensive understanding of effective teaching and learning methodologies.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance educational practices.
  • The capability to engage, inspire, and support students.
  • A reflective practitioner with innovative and creative thinking skills.
  • A positive, enthusiastic demeanor and a growth-oriented mindset.
  • A commitment to actively participating in extra-curricular activities.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses.

Desirable:

  • National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).
  • National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT).
  • A proven history of enhancing student outcomes.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
