We are currently looking for a highly qualified and skilled Portuguese Homeroom Teacher to join our team in August 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction aligned with the Portuguese primary curriculum and national educational standards.
  • Create and implement captivating lessons that address the diverse academic and developmental needs of students.
  • Take responsibility for the homeroom class, nurturing students’ academic progress, well-being, and personal growth.
  • Monitor student achievement through both formative and summative assessments while maintaining high academic standards.
  • Provide pastoral support and work closely with the school's well-being and support teams.
  • Encourage student participation in co-curricular activities, projects, and enrichment programs.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and engage in school-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Cultivate a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behavior and learning.
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices and support professional development goals.
  • Maintain regular, effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
  • Stay updated on educational advancements and participate in continuous professional development.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A relevant degree in Education (Portuguese Primary Education) along with a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Experience in primary education, ideally in an international or bilingual school environment.
  • A strong understanding of the Portuguese curriculum and effective homeroom practices.
  • The ability to motivate and engage young learners, facilitating both academic and personal growth.
  • Skills in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Experience using technology and innovative teaching approaches to enrich student learning.
  • A commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and student welfare principles.
