Responsibilities and tasks

  • Develop dynamic lesson plans designed to teach Physical Education appropriate for the designated age group.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Comply with the standards established by all relevant curricula.
  • Provide differentiated instruction that addresses the diverse learning styles and skill levels of students to improve their success, incorporating activities suitable for various fitness levels.
  • Organize relevant field trips, competitions, outdoor activities, and similar events.
  • Lead the School’s competitive sports program and Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) program, ensuring that activities meet the developmental needs of the age group.
  • Respect and acknowledge each student’s social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, exemplifying mutual respect and tolerance.
  • Contribute to the management of pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior for all students, especially those in your assigned groups.
  • Encourage students to take pride in their environment and promote respect and empathy for others, fostering a supportive school community.
  • Manage all aspects of classroom organization, including the maintenance of equipment, ensuring resources are clearly labeled and accessible. Keep PE areas clean and orderly.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and colleagues to develop and improve effective student assessment methods and maintain organized portfolios. Keep precise records of each child's progress and provide necessary reports.
  • Build positive relationships with the parents of the students you supervise.
  • Guide, inspire, and support classroom helpers in their roles.
  • Serve as an ambassador for EtonHouse within the community and beyond.

  • Work together with colleagues on long- and medium-term planning efforts.
  • Share joint responsibility for school displays.
  • Participate in the organization and execution of school assemblies.
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with fellow staff members.
  • Engage in appraisal processes and professional development opportunities to foster personal and career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with a Diploma in Sports Science; or a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science along with a Teaching certificate.
  • Have 2 to 5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in a school environment.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
