We are seeking an experienced Performing Arts Teacher specializing in Music and Drama to become a part of our High/Secondary School sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity to teach Drama and Theatre Studies within our dynamic Performing Arts program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute high-quality Music and Drama lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and well-organized, promoting creativity, performance skills, and academic growth across various year groups.

• Assign significant learning tasks and projects while providing prompt assessments of student work, along with constructive feedback aimed at improving technique, confidence, and performance quality.

• Assess student learning through effective formative and summative methods, tracking progress over time and adjusting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs and skill levels.

• Communicate, consult, and collaborate with colleagues and parents/guardians to prioritize each student’s best interests, ensuring consistent support for their learning, wellbeing, and engagement.

• Lead an engaging after-school drama or music club, boosting participation, creating performance opportunities, and enhancing students’ enjoyment and confidence in the performing arts.

• Support the achievement of school priorities through various additional responsibilities as required, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to contributing beyond the classroom.

• Prepare students for performances, showcases, and events, which includes organizing rehearsals, managing production logistics, and addressing technical needs when necessary.

• Actively participate in curriculum development and resource planning within the department, sharing best practices and ensuring consistent standards throughout classes and productions.

• Promote an inclusive culture in the performing arts, ensuring accessibility for all learners (including EAL/SEND as applicable) and encouraging positive participation and teamwork.

REQUIREMENTS

• A university degree in Drama, Education, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience within an international school setting.

• Familiarity with international curricula, particularly American (AP) and British (IGCSE/A-Level) systems, with experience in delivering courses at the examination level.

• Demonstrated success in performing arts at the school, regional, or international levels.

• A strong record of performances, showcases, and events, including planning for rehearsals and productions.

• Strategic vision, operational expertise, and exceptional organizational skills.

• A commitment to pastoral care, holistic student development, and fostering a positive school environment.

• Flexibility, creativity, and resilience in a lively, multicultural educational context.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
