Job Description

  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere grounded in evidence-based best practices.
  • Implement a challenging, relevant, and meaningful curriculum using a transdisciplinary and conceptual approach.
  • Exemplify and promote the attributes of the IB PYP learner profile.
  • Cultivate and sustain genuine, respectful, and positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, valuing social, cultural, and religious diversity.
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet a wide array of learning needs.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusive Education and EAL teams, along with the school counselor, to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as necessary.
  • Work together to develop and assess Individual Education Plans as needed.
  • Keep planning documents that outline specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, and assessments.
  • Track and document student progress.
  • Employ technology where applicable to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Organize and maintain a neat and structured classroom, encouraging students to take pride in their learning space.
  • Manage all aspects of classroom behavior, addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of students in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Engage in professional discussions and collaborate with colleagues, sharing knowledge while respecting confidentiality.
  • Advocate for student wellbeing, promoting a culture of safeguarding and child protection, and reinforcing the school-wide commitment to student safety.
  • Be familiar with Safeguarding reporting procedures and follow protocols in cases of Child Protection Issues.
  • Reflect on personal teaching practice to stay informed about contemporary research and best practices.
  • Participate in Professional Learning and appraisal processes aimed at personal, professional, and career development.
  • Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior of all students, particularly those in your designated class.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications

  • The applicant must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or its equivalent, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a subject followed by a PGCE from a recognized university or college.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience is required.
