About This Role

Bahlool British International School, a distinguished British international institution in Baghdad, is seeking talented, British-trained educators for IGCSE and A Level teaching roles.

Curriculum

Our institution follows the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with Pearson/Edexcel specifications is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding instruction for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson/Edexcel)
  • Develop and prepare lesson plans that meet Pearson specifications and assessment objectives
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of the new Sixth Form Department
  • Contribute to curriculum development, planning, and internal assessments
  • Ensure students are well-prepared for external examinations
  • Track student progress and offer necessary academic support
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and professionalism
  • Collaborate effectively with senior leadership and Sixth Form staff
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and initiatives related to the Sixth Form

Person Specification

  • British-trained teacher with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level
  • Strong understanding of Pearson/Edexcel exam boards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the development of a new Sixth Form
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a developing team
  • Experience in an international school or Sixth Form environment is an advantage, but not essential
