THE ROLE

Our Psychology department has made significant strides in enhancing student outcomes and igniting a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. The department’s success stems from the commitment, expertise, and innovative approach of its staff toward data and curriculum development. We are currently in search of a creative IB DP Psychology teacher to join this thriving team starting in August 2026.

SKILLS

The ideal applicant will possess a proven track record of effective teaching and supporting student achievement. While prior experience in teaching the IB Middle Years and Diploma programs is preferred, we welcome exceptional educators from various educational backgrounds to apply. It is crucial to align with the IB philosophy and embody the values of the Learner Profile. A true passion for working within a culturally diverse, non-selective community is also essential. Furthermore, the following qualifications are required:

• A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Psychology
• Advanced qualifications are advantageous but not essential
• A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Secondary/High School Psychology, preferably within an IB curriculum context, though this is not obligatory
• A thorough understanding of the IBDP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong commitment to continuously improving teaching practices to deliver exceptional learning experiences for students
• The experience, character, and educational philosophy that align with a top-tier IB World School like GEMS World Academy
• Availability to start in August 2026
