Location: Shanghai, China

We are on the lookout for a Secondary IB DP Physics Teacher to become part of our NACIS Shanghai school, which is under the Nord Anglia Education umbrella, commencing August 2026. The role will involve teaching IBDP Physics to students in Grades 10 to 12.

THE SCHOOL
Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai offers an engaging and enriching educational experience for learners aged 6 to 18 years. Our innovative and internationally-focused school community provides a distinctive bilingual, blended learning program culminating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school features outstanding facilities that support our creative educational methods. Our diverse teaching staff comes from ten different countries, including a strong representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

THE ROLE
In this position, you will report to the Head of Secondary Physics and will be essential in ensuring that lesson planning, preparation, teaching, assessment, and reporting meet the needs of our students and adhere to school standards. Your role will significantly contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the school. You will display thorough curriculum knowledge and demonstrate adaptability within the science department by teaching various aspects of the curriculum.

Working collaboratively with both national and international educators will be crucial as you help enhance the curriculum offerings and guide the future direction of the Science subject within our institution. We expect you to maintain high standards for our students, designing learning experiences that align with our Secondary curriculum while fostering a culture of limitless achievement. You will promote a respectful classroom environment that encourages inquiry and dialogue in learning.

You should possess the ability to adapt quickly to the vibrant international setting we provide. A university degree, a recognized teaching qualification, and prior teaching experience are mandatory. Your dedication and creativity will be reflected in your reflective practice concerning your teaching and student outcomes as you explore and implement innovative strategies to elevate our school's success.

As a collaborative team member, you will embody the values of our school. Your capacity to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build strong relationships with parents and students will be essential. Furthermore, you must fulfill the visa requirements for China, which include a minimum of two years of science teaching experience and a notarized bachelor’s degree.
