About This Role

GEMS Al Barsha National School is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher (Geography) to join our committed team in August 2026. In your role as a Humanities Teacher at GEMS Al Barsha National School, you will create engaging and thought-provoking lessons that animate History and/or Geography for students. You will assist learners in honing their enquiry, evaluation, and research abilities, guiding them to appreciate both local and global viewpoints. Additionally, you will actively participate in the broader school community, engaging in co-curricular activities, school events, and continuous curriculum enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare, and deliver exceptional Humanities lessons that motivate and engage students across diverse ability levels.
  • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a profound understanding of historical and geographical concepts through well-structured learning experiences.
  • Assess, document, and report on student progress, utilizing data to guide planning and differentiation.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners and promotes academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with peers to create innovative schemes of work and exchange best practices.
  • Effectively communicate with parents to provide consistent updates on student progress and accomplishments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and co-curricular initiatives.
  • Uphold GEMS Education’s Core Values and the principles of Al Barsha National School at all times.
  • Engage in the wider school community through events, enrichment opportunities, and educational excursions.

Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in History, Geography, or a closely related Humanities field, along with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Strong command of subject matter in History and/or Geography.
  • Proficient in the use of ICT and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
