About This Role
Campion School is seeking an enthusiastic and driven professional to take on the role of Head of Sixth Form within their Sixth Form Department. This exciting opportunity not only facilitates leadership growth but also allows for a meaningful contribution to the department's development.
The chosen candidate will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to improve the department's outcomes, playing a pivotal role in its evolution while acquiring valuable experience and support for their leadership goals within the United Learning Trust.
This position provides a distinctive chance for personal and professional growth within an educational environment. The role is available starting in January or April 2025.
Key Responsibilities
The primary focus of this role is to lead the management team, tutor team, and Sixth Form educators to enhance student achievement for Years 12 and 13.
Leadership and Management
- Facilitate self-evaluation and strategic planning for the Sixth Form offerings
- Guide the strategic planning process within the Sixth Form
- Ensure systems are established to analyze student performance data effectively
- Oversee a target-setting initiative that presents significant challenges for students
- Implement a robust engagement, transition, and induction program to prepare students for Sixth Form studies
- Manage the careful allocation and utilization of budgetary and physical resources, including the bursary system
Quality of Education
- Drive the enhancement of high-quality teaching and learning throughout the Sixth Form
- Lead the creation of a cohesive and ambitious curriculum that equips all students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in life
- Oversee the development of high-quality enrichment activities as part of the Sixth Form academic program
- Exemplify excellence as a classroom educator
Personal Development
- Ensure provisions are in place to prepare students for the next phase of education, employment, or training
- Foster opportunities for student leadership and voice within and beyond the Sixth Form
Behaviour and Attitudes
- Guarantee the safety and risk management of Sixth Form students and lead the effective application of wellbeing procedures, including safeguarding, in close collaboration with the safeguarding team
- Promote positive attitudes to cultivate a strong ethos within the Sixth Form
- Maintain standards for appropriate behavior and attire among Sixth Form students
