About This Role
The Position
The Head of Mathematics will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and enhancing the Mathematics curriculum and will also supervise Computer Science within the Upper School. The individual in this role will ensure that every student achieves remarkable progress in both subjects while finding them engaging and challenging. At DBS, the curriculum includes IGCSE Mathematics (Edexcel), IGCSE Further Mathematics (AQA), A Level Mathematics (Edexcel), and A Level Further Mathematics (Edexcel).
The Head of Mathematics must fully embrace the core values of DBS and recognize the equal importance of academic pursuits, pastoral care, and co-curricular activities. This position reports directly to the Head of Upper School.
The person in this role is accountable for maintaining the highest standards of student performance specific to their teaching subjects. This is achieved through thorough monitoring, evaluation, and review of students' learning progress and teaching outcomes, along with setting improvement targets.
Remuneration
The chosen candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package reflective of their experience, which includes:
- A competitive salary.
- On-site accommodation for the first year of the contract if recruited internationally, with the option to relocate off-site and receive a housing allowance from the second year onward.
- Flights at the beginning and end of the contract for the candidate and their dependent spouse and children.
- An annual flight allowance for dependent spouse and children.
- Medical insurance coverage for dependent spouse and children.
- Full tuition fee coverage for up to two children, or three for teaching couples (50% for any additional children).
- A gratuity payment at the end of the contract.
