Humanities Teacher

Reach British School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Humanities Teacher to become part of our educational team.

The ideal applicant will possess a strong passion for subjects such as History, Geography, and Social Studies, and will be committed to delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that nurture students’ critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical abilities. They will provide effective and tailored feedback in line with key school policies regarding Teaching & Learning and Assessment, ensuring that students are supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve exceptional results. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in History.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute high-quality Humanities lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and planning frameworks (LTPs, MTPs, and STPs).

- Improve students’ understanding of historical events, geographical concepts, and diverse global perspectives.

- Encourage critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and evidence-based discussions.

- Structure lessons effectively to maintain an appropriate pace, challenge students, and ensure engagement.

- Clarify and communicate learning objectives to all students.

- Inspire and challenge each student through effective differentiation for individuals and groups.

- Foster curiosity and an appreciation for various cultures, societies, and historical contexts.

- Assist students in developing their research, analytical, and presentation skills.

- Assign meaningful and engaging homework that reinforces and extends learning.

- Implement peer and self-assessment strategies to promote reflection and growth.

- Manage classroom behavior and resources efficiently.

- Set high expectations and promote positive behavior consistent with school policy.

- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including students with additional needs (SEN) and those who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).

- Ensure students grasp essential subject-specific terminology and concepts within Humanities.

- Integrate SMSC development and reflect global awareness, citizenship, and enterprise in lesson planning.

- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and perspectives.

AMAR: Academic Monitoring, Assessment and Reporting
- Accurately evaluate both formative and summative assessments and moderate as necessary.

- Utilize assessment data strategically to inform planning and enhance student progress.

- Provide systematic, meaningful, and age-appropriate personalized feedback.

- Complete individualized reports following the school’s Assessment and Reporting Policy.
