About This Role

Head of DT
Brayton Academy, Doncaster Road, Selby, YO8 9QS

Pay Scale - MPS / UPS plus TLR 2A
Date required – September 2026

Brayton Academy, a proud member of the Resilience Multi-Academy Trust, is on the lookout for a passionate and inspiring teacher of Design and Technology. We invite applications from candidates specializing in resistant materials or Food Technology. The successful applicant will join our dedicated and effective department, demonstrating high-quality teaching skills, the ability to engage and motivate students, and a strong desire to enhance the lives and learning experiences of our pupils.

Over the past five years, the academy has made significant strides in elevating educational standards, and you will become part of an exceptional institution poised for growth. We are committed to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, recognizing the importance of creative arts in our development, and we are currently investing in upgrading our teaching facilities to support our ambitious goals for the Academy.

Brayton Academy has been recognized as ‘Outstanding in all areas’ in OFSTED inspections in June 2019 and again in 2024. The exemplary behavior and attitudes towards learning displayed by our students have consistently been noted as a strength, alongside our dedication to staff wellbeing and professional development. You will benefit from a highly visible Leadership Team that is focused on improving the life chances of our students.

As part of The Resilience Multi Academy Trust, we uphold high expectations for all, offer an innovative curriculum, and promote strong staff/student relationships. We maintain that traditional values of discipline and respect are essential. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance, or rudeness, fostering a safe and harmonious learning environment for both students and staff.

At Brayton, we prioritize the wellbeing of our teachers. Each teacher is paired with a ‘coach’ who will assist in facilitating professional development and supporting your welfare. This arrangement promotes self-driven professional growth, guided by a skilled and experienced coach.

This is an exciting moment to join our vibrant academy. The successful candidate can be at any stage of their career, with potential opportunities for additional leadership responsibilities as they progress.

Interested candidates are welcome to meet the Principal and tour the Academy on Thursday, 16th April at either 1:00 PM or 4:00 PM. To schedule an appointment, please contact Sophie Addison at saddison@braytonacademy.org.uk.
