The Position:

Head of Diverse Learning Needs

The ideal applicant will be an inclusive, empathetic, and experienced educator and leader, bringing high expectations, a solid commitment to student support, and creativity to this role. They will comprehend the importance of equity, personalized assistance, teamwork, and innovation, collaborating with the Diverse Learning Needs team to improve student outcomes.

Educators and leaders at the Aga Khan Academy are:

  • Actively involved in the Academy’s Enrichment Programme.
  • Engaged in the vibrant residential life of a school community that values and celebrates the diversity of its faculty and students.

Required training and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or an equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in diversity and inclusion.
  • Professional Teaching Qualification.
  • At least five years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Relevant leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate and training in inclusive practices.

Required skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency and accuracy in both spoken and written English.
  • Technological proficiency that facilitates innovative and effective use of information and communication technology in the classroom.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Valued attributes:

  • Certification for screening students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Willingness to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
