Grade 8 Teacher - PELICAN LAKE EDUCATION FULL-TIME
Pelican Lake School, catering to students in Grades 7 through 12, is located on the Pelican Lake First Nation, roughly 175 km northeast of North Battleford, SK. The Pelican Lake First Nation is in search of a committed Grade 8 Teacher, with the starting date to be determined based on the availability of the selected applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire, mentor, and support young learners
- Create engaging lesson plans and interactive learning activities/resources
- Conduct both formal and informal student assessments
- Incorporate appropriate technology and media into lesson planning
- Facilitate learning experiences in classroom and outdoor settings
- Participate in co-curricular activities within the school
- Maintain and promote high standards of conduct, respect, and safety in the classroom
- Foster open and ongoing communication with families
- Develop lesson plans with clear objectives that align with SK curriculum standards
Position Requirements:
- Must hold or be in the process of acquiring a valid SK Teaching Certificate
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in education
- Exhibits a strong work ethic and a deep commitment
- Must have an understanding and appreciation of Native culture
- Supports the school’s mission and values, prioritizing student-centered decisions
- Communicates effectively with staff, parents, and students
- Maintains professionalism in all school interactions and activities
- Values the continuous growth and development of school programs and curriculum
