Are you passionate about science? Would you like to join a top independent school in the North, featuring modern facilities and engaging practical activities?
We are seeking to hire a motivated and committed General Science Technician to support our science faculty.
The primary objective of this position is to assist in the preparation for practical activities aligned with the science curriculum. This includes setting up equipment and apparatus in laboratories and classrooms. Additional duties encompass regularly checking and maintaining appropriate stock levels of equipment, materials, and chemicals, as well as ensuring the department remains clean and organized.
The ideal candidate will possess at least a grade C or higher in science or have prior technician experience. Experience with laboratory equipment is not a prerequisite. If you are a proactive individual who can work independently, we encourage you to apply.
The Science Faculty boasts an exceptional academic performance at iGCSE and A-level, with many students gaining entry to prestigious universities. Within the faculty, biology, chemistry, and physics function as distinct disciplines, each with enough staff to support a Deputy Head of Department, a technical Team Leader, and a General Science Technician. One of the Team Leaders also serves as the Lead Technician.
There is also the possibility to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to exciting projects, as well as assist with the planning and evaluation of practicals.
The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) stands as one of the premier schools in the North, with a history dating back to 1552. The school is dedicated to inspiring all community members while instilling values of responsibility, respect, and resilience in both pupils and staff.
