Contract Duration

1 year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 2-year term

• Renewal dependent on satisfactory evaluation and mutual agreement.

The initial contract for this position spans from June 2026 to August 2027. This preliminary contract serves as the probationary period for the candidate and may be renewed based on favorable evaluations.

SPAS prefers to conduct in-person interviews for this role and will only contact candidates who possess either an F-Visa status in South Korea or Korean Citizenship. Interviews will begin as applications are received and will take place either virtually via Google Meet with the School Principal and General Manager or, ideally, in person. This position will remain open until filled.

We are currently seeking a G2 Homeroom Teacher for our Gwanggyo Campus.

Work Hours

• 7:40 AM - 4:40 PM
• Staff Meetings: Weekly, concluding at 4:50 PM
• Weekly Student Contact Hours: 25
• Class Hours: 20
• After-School Activities & Lunch Duties: Included in Contact Hours
• Regular Collaborations: Participation in grade-level PLCs and alignment PLCs
• Contract Duration: 1 year

Standards

• Common Core ELA, NGSS, AERO Social Studies, Common Core Mathematics

The core SPAS standards are utilized to assess students through a Standards-Based Grading system.

The G2 position entails teaching Math, Science or ELA, and Social Studies, as determined during the hiring process.

Responsibilities include leading Homeroom Morning Meetings, conducting SEL Check-Ins, and facilitating Closing Circles.

Preparation of weekly lesson plans and updates to the Learning Management System (LMS) are required.

At SPAS, we believe that every teacher is also an ELL educator, establishing goals across all classes to support English language acquisition, regardless of the subject. The Lower ELL Teacher specifically targets learning gaps within the grade level. This teacher will work with assigned grade levels four times a week to reteach, review, and build on previous lessons, all aimed at closing these gaps and helping students reach grade-level proficiency.
